The National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain has been around since 1948 and has held more than 500 concerts as well nurtured more than 5,000 young musicians from across the world. This tight-knit and well respected organization was looking for a complete re-brand of their site that shared the experience and love for music that they had. Along with killer looks, they wanted a highly functional yet robust CMS (Content Management System) at the back-end of the website. After being approached by a partner agency that was working with NYO and a thorough selection process, we were brought on-board to help orchestrate and create a superb online presence for them. After a lot of hard-work from all members involved, what resulted was music to everyone’s ears. NYOGB changes its members each year, bringing in new energy, perspectives and new commitments to classical music. One thing that never changes is the youthful perspective and love for music which we needed to bring out in their newly re-designed website.
The back-end of this website was built in Ruby on Rails giving it the ultimate functionality without compromising on the speed needed to run a website of this size. The customized Ruby on Rails CMS platform was perfect for the NYOGB as it allows the musical teachers to interact with students by sending out customized instrument-specific emails, newsletters and information within a couple of clicks. Communication, management and interaction with students was fully integrated within the back-end of the website making it more than just eye-candy. In addition to this, the entire website was made fully responsive rendering perfectly across all desktops, tablets and mobile phones giving it a consistent brand experience. The robust website is designed and customized keeping everything in mind from an aesthetic and functional standpoint. What resulted after successful completion of this project was a brilliant, highly functional, secure, and super-fast website that was brilliant for both students and the NYOGB staff members. We look forward to continue working with them and helping the young generation develop a love for classical music.
