7 AI Search Optimization Strategies to Make Your Brand Visible in ChatGPT

Open ChatGPT and type what your best customer would type. Something like: “Who should I hire for SEO in Dubai if I run an online store?”

Read the names it gives you. Now check whether yours is there.

If it isn’t, you’re not alone. Most Dubai businesses we test this on are missing, even the ones sitting comfortably on page one of Google. That’s the odd part. Ranking and being recommended have quietly become two different jobs, and the second one rarely appears in anyone’s monthly report.

Here are seven things that actually move the needle. None of them is a trick, and most can be started this week. If you’re comparing SEO services in Dubai right now, they also make a decent checklist for questioning whoever’s pitching you.

1. Let ChatGPT’s crawler through the door

Start with the boring one, because it breaks everything else.

ChatGPT’s search feature uses its own crawler, OAI-SearchBot, and leans heavily on Bing’s index. If your robots.txt blocks it, or your security setup does it for you, you can’t be cited. Full stop. Plenty of UAE sites sit behind Cloudflare or a security plugin that turns away bots by default, and nobody on the team ever chose that.

Ask your developer to check both. Then set up Bing Webmaster Tools and claim your Bing Places listing. Most Dubai businesses have never opened either, and it takes an afternoon.

2. Answer the question in the first two sentences

When someone asks a long question, ChatGPT doesn’t run one search. It breaks the question into smaller ones, pulls a few pages for each, and lifts the passages it can use cleanly.

So write passages that can be lifted. Put the heading as the question your customer asks, then answer it in 40 to 60 words straight away. Name the subject in full rather than writing “it” or “this service”, because the paragraph may be pulled out of context.

A page that opens with “We are a leading provider of tailored digital solutions” gives the model nothing. A page that opens with what the work costs, how long it takes and who it suits gets quoted.

3. Publish real prices, in dirhams

This one makes sales teams nervous, and it’s where businesses lose the most ground.

When a buyer asks ChatGPT what something costs, it answers. If your site says “contact us for a quote”, it’ll quote somebody else, or a directory, or a two-year-old forum thread. You don’t need a rate card. A range in AED, a typical timeline and a note on what changes the number is plenty.

Be honest about the range. If you serve small businesses starting around AED 4,000 a month, say so. People respect it, and so do models.

4. Fix your name, address and phone everywhere

ChatGPT builds a picture of your company from every mention it has seen. If your website says one thing, LinkedIn another and Google Business Profile a third, you don’t come across as one company. You come across as a blur.

Pick one exact legal name, one address, one correctly formatted +971 number and one sentence describing what you do. Use it everywhere: site footer, schema markup, Google Business Profile, Bing Places, Clutch, LinkedIn, every UAE directory that lists you. It’s dull work and it’s worth more than a quarter of blog posts.

5. Get other people to say it about you

For “best agency in Dubai” style questions, ChatGPT is wary of a company describing itself. It goes looking for agreement from sources you don’t control: Clutch and GoodFirms profiles, Google reviews, a roundup on a regional site, a mention in Gulf News or Khaleej Times, a Reddit thread where someone recommended you without being asked.

So go and earn those. Ask happy clients for detailed reviews, not “great service” one-liners. Pitch a piece of your own data to a regional publication. Take part in the conversations where your customers already ask for recommendations, honestly and with your real name.

6. Put a human and some evidence on every page

A post written by “Admin” with no sources gives a model very little reason to trust it. Put a named author on the page with a photo, a role, years in the UAE market and a LinkedIn link. Back it with Person and Organization schema.

Then publish something only you could publish. Your own numbers from your own client accounts, with the method shown. How long it really takes your clients to reach page one. What a click costs in your vertical. A mistake you made last year and what it taught you. Anyone can rewrite what’s already online. Almost nobody publishes first-hand evidence, which is exactly why it gets quoted.

7. Measure it, because nobody else will

There’s no Search Console for ChatGPT, so build a crude one.

Write down 20 to 30 questions your customers genuinely ask. Once a month, run each one through ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google’s AI Mode, and note which businesses get named and which sources get cited. Run each question twice, because answers shift.

Then open GA4 and create a channel group for referrals from chatgpt.com and the other assistants. The numbers will look small at first. Look at how those visitors behave anyway, because they usually arrive already convinced and ready to talk.

Watch branded search too. People often hear your name in an AI answer, then Google it later. A steady rise there is frequently the first sign it’s working.

One opinion, and I’ll own it if it’s wrong

Don’t waste your first month on an llms.txt file or a pile of AI-written articles. Fix crawl access, your business details and your pricing first. Volume was a 2019 strategy, and thin, repetitive content now teaches these systems to skip you.

How long does it take?

Faster than classic SEO, in our experience. Crawl fixes and consistent business details can show up in a month or so. Real authority in a competitive category still takes quarters. Anyone promising ChatGPT mentions in a week is selling you something.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get my brand mentioned in ChatGPT?

Let OAI-SearchBot and Bingbot crawl your site, answer customer questions directly at the top of each page, publish clear pricing, keep your business details identical across every platform, and earn mentions on review sites, directories and regional press.

Does ranking on Google help me appear in ChatGPT?

It helps, but it isn’t enough. ChatGPT draws heavily on Bing’s index and on third-party sources, so businesses ranking well on Google can still be missing from its answers if they’ve neglected Bing, reviews and consistent entity data.

What should SEO services in Dubai include for AI search?

Technical and on-page SEO, plus AI crawler checks, Bing and Google Business Profile management, schema markup, named authors, off-site mentions, and a monthly log of which brands and sources AI assistants cite for your queries.

How can I track visitors from ChatGPT?

In GA4, group referral traffic from chatgpt.com and similar sources into a custom channel. Pair it with a monthly log of the answers ChatGPT gives to your key customer questions.

Do I need Arabic content to appear in ChatGPT in the UAE?

It depends on your customers. If a real share of them search in Arabic, well-written Arabic pages face less competition than English ones. Have it written by a person, not auto-translated.

Mind Digital has run search programmes for UAE brands including Pfizer, Adidas, Tommy Hilfiger, Landmark Group and Virgin Megastore from our DMCC office. If you’d like to see what ChatGPT currently says about your business and who it recommends instead, look at our SEO services or get in touch.
